Thanks to you all for your email replies... it's always wonderful to hear from back home we really do appreciate getting hello's :) So Thanks again!!!
We've had a wonderful busy weekend!!! Here are some of the high points and scary events ;)
There was bus full (46 people) from the three deaf congregations in Belize that came down south for a special campaign of searching for any deaf in the southern district and we had two separate ASL meetings for the two different areas covered.... It was a huge success we really had Jehovah's blessing one of the meetings there were 35 in attendance and 3 deaf and the other there was i think 105 and 35 deaf and family members. The reason for this campaign was for bethel to see the potential and what the need is in the southern part of the country for the deaf. Our Friends from Orange Walk had come down and stayed with us which was so nice to be able to see them and be with them all weekend and the support from the local congregations was so good very encouraging. Made us feel in the years to come the south will have it's own ASL Congregation!!!! Expansion and increase is on the horizon! ;)
Last week in the ministry we had another great morning... One Myan Lady that I(Sally) called on attends church regularly but doesn't seem to be find the answers and the lady said i really just want to study the bible so i can learn for myself!!! So i said well we study the bible with people We can come every week and study with you! Her eyes just lit up with excitement!! so we've made plans to call back next week to start the BT book!
And thank you to all for your concern with the dogs... but they are lovely and we're getting quite attached to them ;) they are very protective us now and we of them.... Chubbs has not been well this weekend so we've had to take him to the vet's and he is now on the road to recovery!
He just got bit by something and had a infection but he's getting back to himself now ;)
Speaking of bites... last week we found a tarantula in our front yard!!! thankfully it was a few days old and had been unknowing killed by the truck driving over it!! ;) and when we were cleaning the house last week we found a scorpion and then on the weekend we found two more!!! we've been told that they are not poisonous but if they were to sting us it was hurt about twice maybe even three times as worse than a bee sting! hoping we don't have to experience it!!
There seems to be..... actually no.... there are definitely many more bugs down here in the south!!! Cj and I are getting lots more bites from grass files and mosquitoes than we did in the North of the country but don't worry we are not getting sick :)
Take Care
Sally and Cj
